Introduction

Ms Sue Gunton is based in Tasmania. Sue has a background of dealing with International students and programs through her association with TAFE Tasmania as a Teacher and International Student Adviser, and the Tasmanian Department of Economic Development in the Trade and Marketing Unit as TAFE Tasmania Admissions Officer. Experience as a Homestay Parent and with an Australian Federal Police Certificate for Criminal History Clearance, enables Sue to make contact with schools, students and parents on both a professional and social level. This she has done over recent years with students from all parts of the globe.

Sue is registered as a volunteer with CSR (Community Support for Refugees) and has re-settled many families from a wide range of countries into life in Tasmania. The Secretary of the Tasmanian Branch of ISANA (International Student Adviser Network of Australia), Sue has actively attended a number of International Education Conferences and workshops, including ESOS and DIMIA briefings. Sue has membership of community organizations such as the Australia-Japan Society (Tasmania) Inc. and the United Nations Association of Australia.

A database of accommodation providers with accommodation that is suitable for international students has been developed by the business. Sue is currently renewing her Real Estate Sales Consultant / Property Management qualifications.

Sue has qualifications in tour guiding and regularly provides tour services in many part of Australia for international students, their parents and business migrants. In 2001, she travelled extensively by train in China and used this experience to practice basic Mandarin that she learnt earlier that year.

Sue has developed a relocation and recruitment consultancy for international clients who wish to visit Australia, either as migrants, students, working holiday makers or holiday makers. She welcomes opportunities to develop business relationships to work co-operatively in joint ventures.
